Cheryl Alwine

Cheryl has participated in the Milton Pre-Christmas Craft Fair several times in the last few years, and the Milton Artist Guild’s Holiday Art Show. Several of her pieces have been donated to charity auctions and raffles. She even has some work in England. The United Church of Milton’s Choir visited a church in Finchhampsted England in October 2010 and she was commissioned to make a communion set for them to bring as a gift. You can contact Cheryl at vt_alwines@hotmail.com.

Although she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art in Illustration and works as a graphic designer/ office administrator for a non profit family center. Cheryl loves turning a lump of clay into a beautiful, functional form. This love affair with mud started in 2003 when her husband gave her a class at the Frog Hollow Studio (now Burlington City Arts) as a Christmas gift. She has taken several classes at the studio over the past few years with well known local potters including Jeremy Ayers, Jules Polk and Loretta Languet.

Cheryl purchased her own wheel and began throwing in a basement studio early on, but continued to fire and glaze her work at BCA. In October of 2009, she purchased an electric kiln and began bisque firing at home.
