After forty years as an art teacher El ( Elroy) Towle is retired now and able to concentrate completely on his own work.

 

El works in several mediums including found materials (assemblage), pastels, watercolor, and fabric dyeing but he prefers oil or acrylic paints.

 

He draws many of his colorful, painterly, subjects from his home and studio on Lake Champlain. He also enjoys painting people’s pets, farm animals, the seasons, lake scapes, landscapes, nature scenes, and subjects of whimsy.
